Case materials - a comparison
The choice of the right case material depends primarily on individual requirements. Polycarbonate (PC) and CURV offer maximum robustness and scratch resistance, making them ideal for frequent travellers, while polypropylene (PP) and ABS offer cheaper alternatives, but with lower durability and scratch resistance properties. Aluminium offers exceptional durability, but is heavier and more expensive compared to polycarbonate and CURV. For soft luggage, nylon and polyester (PES) offer an affordable and flexible solution, but with less protection against external influences.

Summary of the materials:
1st CURV & Polycarbonate (PC): Both materials are at the top with excellent robustness, flexibility and lightness. Polycarbonate also scores points for its wider availability and versatility.
2. polypropylene (PP): A solid material with good water resistance and an attractive price-performance ratio, but less flexible than PC or CURV.
3. nylon: Particularly light and flexible, ideal for soft-shell cases, but less impact and scratch resistant.
4. aluminium: Stylish and extremely durable, but heavier and susceptible to scratches. Ideal for frequent travellers who value protection.
5. ABS: A cheaper hard shell option with acceptable stability, but less durable and temperature resistant.
6. polyester (PES): Often used for soft luggage, inexpensive and lightweight, but not particularly robust or water-resistant.
