Test winner made in Germany: The TITAN UPGRADE S20 comes out on top in Stiftung Warentest’s hand luggage suitcase test (issue 6/2026)

Hamburg, 28 May 2026. The TITAN UPGRADE S20 is the test winner. In the 6/2026 issue of Stiftung Warentest, it came out on top in a comparison of 17 pieces of hand luggage , achieving a ‘Good’ (1.8) rating.

The German-made Trolley performed particularly well in the areas that place the greatest demands on travellers in everyday use. The testers awarded the grade ‘very good’ for ease of packing, effortless pushing and pulling, as well as for instructions for use and product labelling. The TITAN Upgrade was even the only suitcase in the test to be rated “very good to pack”. It also received a “very good” rating in the durability categories of workmanship, endurance testing of wheels and telescopic handle, as well as zips and seams. 

“We are very proud of this outstanding result,” says Oliver Gruber, a member of the management team at TITAN. “In 2020, we took the bold step of manufacturing all TITAN suitcases exclusively in Germany at our own factory in order to guarantee the highest quality. The fact that our UPGRADE S20 came top in the test shows that this was the right decision.” 

Stiftung Warentest assessed the suitcases in four categories: ease of use, durability, environmental performance and harmful substances. In the ‘ease of use’ category, aspects such as opening and closing, the telescopic handle, stability and ease of packing were assessed. The durability tests covered build quality, endurance and drop tests, water resistance, and the quality of the zips and seams. Noise levels, reparability and any presence of harmful substances were also factored into the overall rating.
