If you’re looking to buy a suitcase, you should choose the size based on the length of your trip rather than its appearance. The suitcase sizes at TITAN are clearly categorised for this purpose and cover a range from 38 to 101 litres.

S20 / S23 38–45 litres: 1–4 days · Short break; Measuring 55 × 40 × 20 cm, the S20 cabin bag meets the requirements of almost all airlines. Measuring 55 × 40 × 23 cm, the S23 offers a few litres more packing capacity on network airlines such as Lufthansa or Swiss.
M / M+ 68–84 litres: 5–10 days · City break, week’s holiday; Both sizes remain well within the internationally recognised 158-cm limit for hold luggage.
L 100–101 litres: 10–14 days · Long-haul holiday; Measuring 75 × 53 × 30 cm, the L-shaped case makes full use of the 158 cm limit whilst offering maximum storage space.

Frequently asked questions about suitcases from TITAN

Are TITAN suitcases suitable for air travel?

Yes, all TITAN suitcases are designed to meet standard airline requirements. The S20 cabin suitcase, measuring 55 × 40 × 20 cm, meets the requirements of almost all Airlines, including Ryanair’s Priority fare. The S23 size, measuring 55 × 40 × 23 cm, offers a few litres more packing capacity and is permitted as cabin luggage on network airlines such as Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings, but is not permitted on Ryanair.

For checked-in luggage, most Airlines apply the 158-cm rule: the sum of the height, width and depth must not exceed 158 cm. The M, M+ and L check-in suitcases remain within this limit, whilst the L suitcase utilises the full limit, measuring exactly 158 cm. As many Airlines offer additional options for a fee and regulations are subject to change, it is advisable to check the current guidelines of the relevant Airline before every journey.

Which is better, 2 or 4 reels?

Four wheels offer greater manoeuvrability, as the suitcase can be pushed sideways and is easy to manoeuvre even on narrow paths or in busy airports. Two wheels are less affected by uneven surfaces, but require more effort to pull. TITAN uses four wheels with smooth-running double-wheel castors across all its ranges for maximum comfort.

What is the difference between hand luggage and cabin baggage?

Hand luggage and cabin luggage refer to the same category: luggage that is taken on board and fits into the overhead lockers above the seats. At TITAN, the S20 and S23 sizes comply with the standard requirements of most airlines.

What is the maximum weight allowed for a suitcase on this airline?

The permitted total weight depends on the airline and the fare booked. For checked-in luggage, the limit is often between 20 and 23 kg; however, with Ryanair it is usually lower than with network carriers such as Lufthansa. For hand luggage, the limit is generally between 7 and 10 kg, although here too the requirements vary depending on the Airline and fare.

As you will be lifting your hand luggage into the overhead compartment yourself, the weight should be manageable for you personally, regardless of the Airlines’ specifications. The weight of the suitcase itself counts towards the total weight in both categories. A lightweight TITAN suitcase made of polycarbonate therefore leaves more weight available for the contents.
